Index to Surveys Arranged by County
The records of the South Carolina Statewide Survey of Historic Properties include documentation on properties in every county within the state. Relatively few sites have been recorded in some counties, while thousands have been documented in others. An index to the survey records with brief information about each survey is listed by county in Adobe Acrobat PDF files*. The survey records are available through the Research Room at the South Carolina Archives and History Center. Follow this link for information about research at the Archives and History Center. See also Historic Contexts for select countywide and municipal survey reports.
